Zumtobel Group rigorously defends LED patents
Dornbirn, Austria – With the technology shift to LEDs in full flow, the Zumtobel Group is rigorously defending its intellectual property rights. Companies that have infringed the rights of the Group or its subsidiaries are requested to respect these rights and purchase the appropriate licences. In the event that infringements of its patents and other intellectual property rights persist, the Group reserves the right to take legal action. In a recent example, Tridonic Jennersdorf GmbH filed a lawsuit at Mannheim District Court in Germany against AOC International (Europe) B.V. and AOC International (Europe) GmbH. more
Functions for emergency lighting and mains operation in a compact package
Dornbirn, Austria – The EM powerLED BASIC FX 80 W and the EM powerLED CPS FX 80 W units combine basic emergency lighting functions and mains operation with an integrated simple CORRIDOR FUNCTION (sCF) in a compact low-profile casing. With a cross-section of 21 mm x 30 mm they are designed for installation in slim LED luminaires. Each unit covers a wide range of LED applications with output power of up to 80 W and both offer considerable potential for energy savings thanks to the integral sCF feature. more

Dornbirn, Austria – Tridonic is sponsoring the new category of Applied innovations for the renowned Zumtobel Architecture Award. This category celebrates outstanding innovations and technological solutions which are making a pioneering contribution to a more sustainable future. The category was open to innovations for which their effectiveness could be demonstrated in the form of a prototype, a pilot series or an application in a concrete project. Out of 5 nominees in the last round the Arup Deutschland GmbH project for "SolarLeaf" in Hamburg (DE) – a façade system with photo-bio-reactor technology is the winner. more
EM emergency light drivers: the 2nd generation for linear and compact fluorescent lamps
Dornbirn, July 17, 2014 – The 2nd generation of the 3-part EM series features a new electrical design that enables the standard product portfolio to be halved and costs for stock keeping to be correspondingly reduced. The housing length has also been reduced from 280 mm to 230 mm, enabling the emergency light drivers to be more simply installed in linear and compact fluorescent lamps. All modules of the 2nd generation comply with current standards such as IEC 62034 and IEC 62386, ensuring representing safe investments in the future. more
A Competence Centre for LED and OLED light sources in the making
Dornbirn, July 4, 2014 – Tridonic is concentrating its competence in pioneering LED and OLED light sources at its Jennersdorf site in Burgenland, Austria. Tridonic will be integrating successively its OLED activities, which up to now have been located in Dresden, Germany in the LED Competence Centre in Jennersdorf. more

LED-based floodlighting
Dornbirn, May 14, 2014 – Tridonic has developed the TALEXXengine STARK FLE LED system specifically for illuminating high-ceiling rooms. It consists of an LED module and corresponding converter and, depending on the size of the light-emitting surface (LES), offers impressively bright light of up to 10,000 or 18,600 lm under real operating conditions (tp = 65 °C). This highly efficient system has a long life of up to 50,000 hours. more

Dornbirn, March 30, 2014 – The basicDIM DGC group controller from Tridonic closes the gap between simple lighting control and extended DALI functionality. Up to 4 combined ambient light and presence sensors can be connected to the input, and up to 20 DSI or DALI devices to the two output channels. This means that one controller is sufficient for controlling all the room lighting for example in a classroom or an office with a high level of convenience and according to changing demands. The integrated DALI interface enables the device to be incorporated in a central light management system. more

Tridonic acquires sole ownership of South African sales subsidiary
Dornbirn, January 29, 2014 – Tridonic will increase its stake in its South African sales subsidiary from 49.99 % to 100 %. The outstanding shares will be acquired from the former joint venture partner, Power Technologies (Pty) Ltd., with effect to 1 February 2014. more
